…not that Washington monument.
We were going to go take a trip to the DC monuments ahead of the inauguration, but things happened. We can’t go much of anywhere in DC right now. Instead we visited an older, much smaller monument to the first president of the USA.
“There is nothing wrong with America that cannot be cured by what is right with America.”- Bill Clinton inauguration January 1993
This Washington Monument in Western Maryland was built in 1827. This is the first monument, according to the MD DNR website, dedicated to President George Washington constructed in the US.
By mid-day today, the US will have a new president. Great day to hope for Harmony, and peace…and faith in the future.
